Use Only Qualified Professionals for Injections

Last updated 1 year ago

Even here in the Tri-State, it still is amazing how many people are willing to risk their safety when getting cosmetic injections, such as Botox, Juvederm, or other dermal fillers by going to non-physicians (dentists, chiropractors, cosmetologists, etc) or non-qualified physicians who have no real, qualitative training in these procedures.  Many practitioners have gone to a "weekend course" to become a so-called expert, or worse yet, were "trained" by another non-qualified practitioner.  For example, why would you go to an OB-GYN to have a facial aesthetic procedure, when you wouldn't go to your dermatologist to do an gynecological exam? Further, many non-qualified practitioners are cost-cutting using blackmarket botulinum toxin, which IS NOT BOTOX Cosmetic.  They often use this or other illegally-obtained and non-FDA-approved substances, yet are too often falsely claiming they are the real namebrand.  This compromises your safety in a profound way.

Injectables, if done correctly, and using proper FDA-approved botulinum toxin and fillers can be a convenient and quick way to get aesthetic improvements and results.

If done incorrectly, injections can cause permanent damage not only aesthetically, but also to nerves, blood vessels, skin, and muscles. As with any medical procedure, only seek the help of qualified, certified professionals for injections.

Only Board-Certified Plastic Surgeons or Dermatologists have the necessary training in facial anatomy and aesthetic artfulness to keep your safety first and foremost.

Always do research not only on the procedure you’re considering, but on the professional you’re considering as well.  And, just because you are going to a plastic surgeon's office to get your procedures done, it does not mean that it is actually the physician doing the procedure.  Ask this when inquiring about any injectable procedure, and choose a plastic surgeon who performs these procedures themselves. This is the only way to minimize risk and get the results you expect!
